To Become as A Little Child....

About that time the disciples came to Jesus to ask which of them would be greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven!

Jesus called a small child over to him and set the little fellow down among them,  and said, “Unless you turn to God from your sins and become as little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.
Matthew  18:1-3
What did Jesus actually mean when He said for us to become "As little children?"   Jesus was actually a little child at one time. Our Father in Heaven is sending a very special Kingdom message to us. As born again believers we were all at one time spiritual babes. and as humans in flesh and blood we were born as babies.
I will never forget the day that my boys were born. Both of my children were adopted at birth.  We got the rare experience of bringing both babies at home with us at their birth. It was a very treasured time for my first wife and I, both times.  We never regretted them for one minute. We nourished and treasured them the best we could. I come to realize as a parent I was far from perfect. Both of our boys are doing really well. I know God has great things in store for their lives
When I think of a little child,  the first thing I can think of is they have joy and innocence. They are not polluted by the stains of sin in this world.   Everyone of us adults know that the world can be cruel and heartless.  I  have a hard time believing that a little child is a accident. God in his sovereign will ordained that we be birthed into this world. I am sure there will be many babies in heaven.
Other things that come to mind is that a little child is humble and not striving to be number one. For  us believers are we striving to be the favorite or greatest and only child of our Father in Heaven?  Are we as adults selfish and self-centered wanting all the attention from those around us?  A great scripture comes to mind and that is "For God so LOVED the WORLD- Yes John 3:16 The Father in heaven wants us to know that He loves us so much! HE wants and believes the very best for us!
To become as a little child may be tough for some of us. A little child is not worried about his or her status in this life. They are not worried about their future  or finances. They appreciate the little things in life like loving their parents  Children know how to be themselves. Do you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are going to heaven when you die?  Maybe its time for you to make that decision to ask Jesus to come into your heart and be Lord over your life.
Some people do not believe in celebrating Christmas and so many preach against it. They don't think to see Christmas in the eyes of a child, plus the real reason is celebrating the birth of Jesus. Yes Jesus Christ birthday was not on December 25. But the fact that we do observe the most precious event of His life, His birth into this world.  People have hated Jesus for centuries and I shudder to think that they never repented of their sins and became as a little child. Eternity is a very long time. Once we die and go to hell we do not get a chance to chance our minds.  We make the choice.  Today is your day to choose JESUS to SAVE you from hell!! IF you need  to say this prayer speak it out loud to the Living GOD!

Jesus I ask  you to forgive me of all my sins, I repent from them all, cleanse my heart and mind, deliver me from the clutches of hell. I come to you as that little child that I once was in the flesh, please help me to be reborn into the Kingdom of Heaven in Jesus name I pray, AMEN!!!

For if you tell others with your own mouth that Jesus Christ is your Lord and believe in your own heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in his heart that a man becomes right with God; and with his mouth he tells others of his faith, confirming his salvation   Romans 10:9-10

For unto us a child is born; unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder. These will be his royal titles: “Wonderful,” “Counselor,” “The Mighty God,” “The Everlasting Father,” “The Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 9:6
